In my opinion, therapy is most effective when there is an authentic and real relationship built between people in an environment that fosters trust, honesty, vulnerability, and openness. As a social worker and queer Jewish person, I believe strongly in the importance of community, mutual aid, and reparative justice--especially for those with marginalized identities. Acknowledging the impact of systemic oppression on an individual's wellbeing is imperative when working to heal and empower folks. With a special focus on the queer community, and trans folks in particular, I work to understand my own biases and limitations in order to create a space that is anti-racist, sex-positive, fat-positive, kink-and-poly-informed, non-judgmental, and queer-friendly. Through a lens influenced by psychodynamic, narrative, and feminist therapy principles, I hope to engage not only with my client's present-self, but also with their inner child and inner teenager to promote healing and rebuild trust in one's self and intuition.
